Terms and Conditions.

STOCK AVAILABILITY

For stock availability please confirm stock availability and lead times for shipping (if applicable) with our team before finalising your purchase in store.  Imported product stock levels may not be accurate and products may incur long ETA's due to shipping delays, port delays, global conditions and other factors beyond our control. We will do our utmost to keep you informed of any know delays.

 

By placing your order you accept that stock levels are subject to change and all shipping times are estimates only. 

 

DELIVERY

Details of purchases advised as 'in stock'  are forwarded to our third party delivery contractor team.

 

Our contractor will contact your directly at your registered address, email and telephone number in order to coordinate the completion of delivery of your purchase at a mutually convenient time.

 

By placing your order and making a purchase from us you accept that all delivery times are estimates only.

O P E N  H O U S E  Furniture  will not be held responsible for any delivery delays or damages that may occur in transit. A Delivery Damage claim against the contractor may be lodged via our website.

REFUNDS

Please choose carefully. We are unable to provide refunds for change of mind & wrong selection.

 

A refund, exchange or credit will be given only in the unlikely event that a product is deemed faulty, wrongly described, or does not do what it should within 7 days of purchase. We will provide a replacement or repair to any product that may be deemed faulty by us or the manufacturer. Please contact us in store for further assistance with faulty products.

 

After 7 days, product faults or failures that are deemed ‘reasonable’ and that have occurred under normal and reasonable domestic use may qualify for remediation with our manufacturers. Your original invoice and proof of purchase, photographs of the fault, and a warranty claim form must me lodged and attached via our Customer Care portal of this website.  O P E N  H O U S E  Furniture  will work to support your manufacturer’s warranty claim.

 

All return transportation costs for any refunded items is at the responsibility of the customer unless advised otherwise.

We are unable to offer refunds where circumstances beyond our control may cause disruptions and extended lead times with your purchase.  

​

 

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

If for any reason other than change of mind you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return the product to us in it's original "new and unused" condition within 7 days of the goods being dispatched for a store credit or product exchange. (Refunds or Store Credit will ONLY be available if the product is faulty and not due to change of mind.)

 

New and unused means, the product is in its original condition and unsoiled in original packaging as far as possible. 


We are unable to accept items that are not in their original condition. We reserve the right to refuse a product that we consider does not meet these requirements.

 

Please note that all sale and floor-stock items are fully non exchangeable or refundable.  Purchase of floor-stock implies that you have inspected the product on site and are satisfied that accept the item ‘AS IS’.

DAMAGED ITEMS

At  O P E N  H O U S E  Furniture we take great care to ensure that your purchases are packed and delivered safely to your home.  

 

While we take every precaution to package your furniture securely and protect it from damage, we contract third party delivery and courier services to complete the delivery of your items and therefore cannot be held liable for any damages that occur during transit.

​Any damages that occur during delivery must be reported to us within 2 business day from receipt of your item. 

​

  • Provided that you notify us within 2 business days from receipt of your delivery, we can assist and support you with your lodgement of a claim with the third party delivery provider. We will do our best to help in providing any documentation necessary to support your claim.

​

  • You accept that failure to notify us within 2 business days will result in a forfeit of your cliam for any damage that may have occurred during transit.

​

  • For all bulky furniture items we use removalists to deliver large heavy items. 

​

  • Smaller, more manageable items may be collected by you from our store, but you are obliged to bring enough able-bodied help to safely move the item into your vehicle.

​

  • For occupational health and safety reasons, our team are not permitted to load items into your vehicle.

​

  • Failure to bring enough able-bodied help means that there is a higher risk of damage to occur and we may choose not to dispatch your items until satisfied that they can be safely removed or until delivery can be arranged at your expense. 

​

  • If a delivery damage claim is approved by the delivery company or courier, we will either repair or replace the damaged item, depending on the severity of the damage and the availability of replacement pieces or parts and the outcome of the claim.

​

  • If a replacement item is required, we will make every effort to get the replacement to you as quickly as possible. However, please be aware that replacement items may take several weeks/months to arrive.

By making a purchase or placing an order with us, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions regarding our Delivery Policy.

FAULTY PRODUCTS

Faulty products should be reported to us withing 7 days of delivery. This can be done by either contacting the store directly or by accessing the CUSTOMER CARE portal on our website.

You will be required to complete the online form, attach photos of the fault and submit it to:

Products will be assessed by us before being deemed faulty or labeled as a manufacturers fault.  If a manufacturer's fault has occurred, a claim will made against the manufacturer on your behalf. This process may take additional time and you will be updated with a progress time line as far as practicable. We may choose to replace the item for you if stock is available and it is practical to do so.

 

All transportation costs for faulty goods will be covered by O P E N  H O U S E Furniture.

 

PRODUCT COLOUR DISCREPENCIES & PORTRAYAL
Every effort is made to portray items accurately on our website, social media or any other marketing platform. Please be advised all computer screen colour settings vary and can affect the way products appear on the viewing monitor.  

 

O P E N  H O U S E  Furniture  shall not be held responsible for any colour discrepancies. We will make every effort possible to display our products as clearly and accurately as possible.
 

 

SUSTAINABLE & RECLAIMED MATERIALS

Many of our furniture ranges are be produced using sustainably sourced  or recycled timbers. No two pieces are alike and may vary in colour. At O P E N  H O U S E  Furniture  we view unique characteristics as ‘perfect imperfections’ and we do not deem variances as faulty. 

​

Environmental elements can sometimes impact timbers causing the timber to shrink and/or expand occasionally resulting in the formation of small cracks. To assist in avoiding this occurring we recommend using beeswax cream polish to keep your timber nourished. 

​

If you have any concerns with your furniture purchase, please contact the team in store and we’ll do our best to assist you with the guidelines outlined in this document.

 

O P E N  H O U S E  Furniture  is not held accountable If your furniture piece is experiencing splitting as a result of the change in environmental elements. Any exchanges or repairs will be at the cost of the customer unless deemed faulty by the manufacturer.

CHINESE AND OTHER ANTIQUES DISCLAIMER

Every antique furniture piece we sell has its own story... our collections are mostly individually hand-made pieces that have been restored and lovingly brought back to life. All antique, reclaimed or restored furniture pieces must be carefully inspected before purchase. They are considered ‘floor-stock’ and as such you agree to accept them ‘AS IS’.

 

 

GENERAL DISCLAIMER

As most of our products are made from natural materials, elements such as texture, colour and pattern may vary piece to piece as they do in nature. Reclaimed timbers, natural fibres, natural textiles and naturally weathered materials are often features of our artisan hand-manufactured pieces.

​

Natural splitting,  cracking, and loss of natural oils may occur and form part of the characteristics and beauty of these products.  These are not viewed as imperfections or faults, rather part of the natural life and beauty of timber.

​

As every monitor displays different colour tones, the colour of  pictures on our website and social media cannot be taken as a true colour indication of the actual product. 

 

Some product's tones may appear to vary from marketing or website images.

FLOORSTOCK DISCLAIMER

All purchases of floorstock items are accepted 'AS IS'.

Please inspect the item carefully before making your purchase decision.

 

Floor-stock items are clearly identified on your purchase invoice and accompanied by a note stating "FLOOR STOCK ITEM - The customer agrees to accept the item AS IS."

 

Floor-stock purchases do not qualify for refunds or exchange.
